2023 Dream Tree Ballet Class Ended

This year, KNB visited four cities (Gangneung, Dangjin, Ansan and Jeju) with its public interest project, Dream Tree Ballet Class. It went on for 9 months and finally came to a close with the students’ performance, which was held at four locations; Gangneung Art Center on Oct. 11th, Ansan Arts Center on 13th, Dangjin Culture & Art Center on 14th, and Jeju Culture & Art Center on 17th. All profits from ticket sales are returned to social welfare organizations in the communities.
Since 2021, partnering with local institutions, KNB has conducted its public interest project, Dream Tree Ballet Class, offering tuition-free ballet training to elementary school students twice a week for 9 months. And by the end of this course, our students will be able to go on stage with KNB dancers with 〈Fly Higher with KNB〉. Also, with former KNB dancers working as teachers, this program offers our dancers an opportunity to find a job after retirement and to develop their career paths. We started charging admission for 〈Fly Higher with KNB〉 in 2022, and since then we have contributed all the profits to charity. This year, the seat occupancy rate went up to 80%. Therefore, we were able to donate nearly 30 million won to Gangneung Orphanage, Korea University Ansan Hospital, Dangjin City Welfare Foundation, and Child Fund Korea Jeju Office.
Dream Tree Ballet Class has brought a meaningful experience to young aspiring ballet dancers. The entire process was recorded on video and will be posted on our website and on SNS by the first week of December. Your interest and support will be greatly appreciated.
